The Golden Dilemma

In this unit the students will develop and extend their understanding and appreciation of life on the goldfields. They will create a role for themselves in a gold town. They will learn of the discovery of gold by Mr. Neeld at a place that is west of Wyalong. The people of the town are torn about whether or not they should move and begin mining at this place near Wyalong. In the unit, the students will be encouraged to work in group situations, while developing their skills in expressing themselves creatively. They will create meaning in their drama through different forms such as improvisation, movement, mime and storytelling.
